  1. Ok, now im back and have decided some other things :)

It's too much to think about the wireless remote already, i will first focus on motors and how to set up the belt/chain.

    This is my new idea:

Instead of having regular wheels, im thinking of buying mbs wheels, so i dont need to think about the 9.5mm axle and so i dont need to buy custom MoBo/Exkate or any other overpriced e-board replacement part wheels and instead buying chain sprockets and attatch them to the mbs brake holes that are placed in the mbs hubs. Got the idea from this instructable where they do just this but are actually using the mbs brakes, but im planning on using 2 motors instead for better turning without using carving and so i dont need to pay 90€ for the brake system and trucks

So, then i have changed from using belts to chains.

So, what do you guys think?

    Please comment!

And, suggestions on cheap motors, doesnt matter if they are brushed or brushless.

Cheap and good rpm with good torque without being too big is what i need.

    EDIT:

Wolf, dont understand that german lehner site very good, cant find any specs at all, but perhaps that's because im bad at german and 100€ is too much for my budget for motors :/

  2. There are already a pair of spacers on the trucks.

Can i put 10mm bearings on, screw them tight and just ride then?:D

I was actually thinking of using 2 brushed motors, but it would be better if i could find some cheap brushless motors and controllers.

I was inspired from this instructable, and also most of my base thoughts are built on it.:arf:

And about the RC-controllers and recievers, the only ones i find is for existing RC's, are there none existing with just two linear outputs or something?

Would be good if someone could link some good websites for motors (brushed and brushless), controllers and R/C-recievers and controllers!

  3. Hi,

about the belt size: I know someone who has the ES 600 and will ask him later on the day if he knows the exact type.

The Mo-Bo 600 should have the same belt type (not sure if size but they checked the wheels intercompatibility and it seems like it will fit with the same belt).

About the MoBo Controller: It's an proprietary connection, as well, even as some people in the german part of the forum checked its details. I am not sure if there was an final outcome.. seems more like the easier way would be to find out what the receiver chip sends to the controlling µC that controls the motor output. If this data stream is decoded, it would be easy to attach any receiver from RC-components and place an "translator-µC" programmed for that task in the middle.

Some people use just RC-hardware which is easier in terms of wireless parts but harder to find an working (not going boom) controller-motor-setup. Most RC-controllers are too slow (especially those without hall sensor feedback) or not made for changing loads. Thats not an easy task, as well. Should be tested alot before one concludes it as "working".

2C I don't know but if they use DC-motors, which they seem to do, then it is not the ES-controller for sure. More a clone of the MoBo-controller.

Most of them are pretty same, but you never know if the interior isn't different. ;)

    Much regards,

    Wolf

    Thanks!

RC-hardware seems like a pretty good idea actually, as long as they got a suitable 0-5V linear output it wouldn't be any problems right?

I think i found another good way to make a controller though!

I have no idea if it will work or not, but in my head it seems right.

These two with the recievers 5V supply connected to the kelly controllers 5V and connect the linear output back to the kelly controller, so just replacing a potetiometer with the reciever module with the kelly controllers 5V as a supply.

And on the remote, just a pot connected between a 5V supply and the data in connection.

Another problem is that i wont have a functioning brake :/

another thing that is good about them is that i can buy them in my local store for 10€ each :)

But i have to make my own remote, and that will look pretty funny xD

And, is it possible to have 10mm bearings on a 9.5mm axle? Doesn't seem like 0.5mm would harm, anyone having some experience about this?

  4. Ok, thanks alot :)

To get my bearings fitting, i need to do someting else.

If someone knows the belt size of the boom borda advanced or Mo-bo 600, im still very interested!

Then ill scrap the idea about having the ES wireless controller, anyone knows how the mo-bo works?

If not, i'll go with a wired controller :)

  5. Hi, im from sweden and right now im building my own e-board.

I've been looking around alot and is almost done with my setup of the board.

There are alot of info not shown on Mo-Bos website about the boards.

Schematics would be great but ofc they wouldn't bother writing any because they're the only ones supposed to edit them.

So heres my questions for those who espesially haave the Mo-Bo 600, but also the other models and brands.

    1. Axle diameter of the trucks and wheels on the mo-bo 600 traction and the Boom Borda 2 - advanced?

    2. The type and size of the timing belts of both models.

    3. How the wireless radio on both models are connected. Are they possible to connect to normal kelly controllers with 0-5V connections and so on?

Right now, its mostly based on this instructable but with my own custom made deck and possibly a kelly controller.

    Thanks!
