The NTM motors seem fine actually... i have used my for ages without problems.... i think the issue people must talk about are mostly related to stressing the motor too hard, i.e. wrong gearing ratio OR to heavy load etc... but that goes for all motors really... if you set them up well i think they are a great affordable motor.

 

actually i think the motors would run nearly forever if they don't have any load on them... its the load thats is the issue. too much load / incorrect gearing ration the motor draws too much amps.

 

Because i don't have the other motors you suggest on hand & i don't have any spare cash at the moment to buy them maybe my next comparo will be single motor vs dual motor... as i already have everything to do that.... And i think lots of people would be interested in that.

 

Yes i think a distance test would be good..... will defo do it soon.

There seems to be lots of people asking about what motor is suitable for use on an electric skateboard. I selected two of the most commonly used & recommended motors & did some real world testing.
