  1. Broken Motor-Mount;

Late last year (2009) I managed to pick up a small stone whilst riding. It got jammed between the belt and the motor-mount !!

Damage caused - a large chunk snapped out of the rear of the mount & the belt got ruined. :(

The belt was easily bought from RokitScience; but I thought I could mend the motor-mount casing myself.....

First repair was fibre-glass matting and resin. Superb job; even looked pretty good.

But 2nd time I went out for a ride-and there was a cracking noise as it flew out again !! :(

Second repair has been much more successful. :) :)

As can be seen from my photographs; I used two large "Jubilee" clips (hose-clips) to make one VERY large clip. This I tightened round the motor-mount ... thus holding in the 'broken out' piece.

A few of the major manufacturers of the boards use the same parts - so if you break your mount give this a try.

Keep it Safe - Dont fall off ! - njoy..

    Dave.

    Hi Dave,

I remember when this actually happened to me, I was travelling from my house to my girlfriends house, and I only went over a small kerb edge, and the bracket holding the drive wheel and everything in place, just snapped, I was gutted, I and annoyed, it was only a very small kerb edge I had ridden off, to cut a long story short, I called electrro-skate straight away the day after the incident, and spoke to Andrew I believe, when I explained what had happened, he told me that no one else had, suffered with this problem, but he told me he would gladly send me another and I received it the next day, I was happy again. Though you seem like me, you fixed it yourself, and fair play to you, rather that way, than pay for a new one.

    Regards SS:p

ps I did try to have a look at your pictures, though I think because I am a newbie here, I could not see your pictures.

  2. Hi there!

My name is Nina, I'm from Hamburg, Germany and I would like to know, how you use your E-Skateboards?

    Hi Nina,

I use my electric skateboard ES-600 as another mode of transport, I cycle a lot as well but that is not as much fun as riding my electric skateboard, it gives me such a high adrenaline rush, and to be honest I love the attention my board gets me, the other day coming back from my girlfriends house, I had a tug from the police, he was very nice and asked if he could have a look at my skateboard, I of course said yes, and he got out of his police car, and walked around to talk with me and look at my board, he was really into it, and asked all the questions, I told him where I bought mine, and he even took two or three photo's to show the lads at the station, he was soon in his car and off he went, but it made my day go better ha ha

How do you use yours, I take it you wear all the safety gear??? Safety is paramount :P

By the way, I am from Leeds, United Kingdom

  3. My grip is pink because its shocking :D

Hope your new bolts work fine..

Well, we tested that underbody lighting because we developed it ;)

But actually the battery box of the Elektroskate boards are to tiny to install some extra LEDs - but we're going to find a solution ;)

    Hey Andreas,

Cool, if you could keep me in the loop, let me know if you find a solution to this, I would love these on my board :P

  4. We've got Boards with 200, 600 and 800 Watt from different manufacturer for testing issues, as well i got an oldskool leg powerd board (with some pink grip on it  )

Great stuff, why pink grip ha ha ha, only jesting, I have found a good resource shop in Leeds, near the Light Shopping center, the shop is called Exit, they sell clothes, and footwear, as well as skateboard decks, and accessories they have a wide range of different styles$ and costs, the quality of a few of the boards, I looked at were really impressive, they were very helpful indeed, I showed the young female assistant, what I was looking for and she asked me to follow her, and we walked over to a small unit near the window, and she showed me an array of different screws, and bolts, which are specifically made for skateboards, I was very impressed indeed, and told her so, she said that is okay, this actual pack that you are purchasing are for eight bolts and nuts, and in the bag, there is a provided allen key as well for £2.50 you cannot go wrong, I hurriedly rushed home and have installed my new nuts and bolts onto my ES-600, I will thoroughly test the board out tonight, when I travel from my house to my girlfriends house, which is just short of two miles, however I will be travelling in the dark, really cool in the dark, but with care and attention as always. I do wear a Hi Vis body warmer and all the safety equpiment.

Regards, have you tested any of the underboard lighting????

  5. a warm welcome

    Hi Andreas,

Thank you kindly for the warm welcome.

I have a problem with the allen bolts, that sit within the drive wheel, because I could not get the correct allen bolts and self tappers, the bolts stainless steel bolts and nuts that I did get, are okay for a while, but then they become loose, and fall inside the drive wheel, and then get caught, and this stops the drive wheel in motion, and you end up having to either carry the board, or do what I do, and I take a bungee spring cord and put that through my drive wheel area, and I can lift the board gently and use the front wheels to pull my board, home, I am not going to strip the drive wheel and get the allen bolts and self tappers that are still the original ones (2) and take them and buy some more, I hope I a\m more successful this time.

Which board do you own??? and is it electric or leg powered?

  6. Hi,

A great hello from me to all you out there, I am a male electric skateboarder from West Yorkshire, and I love my ES-600 electric skateboard, it is a great piece of kit, and gets me a lot of attention, a cool looking concaved board, that looks great and performs well on most terrains, I have used it all over Leeds, and have easily gone up some very high gradient hills with ease, and if there is usually any problem going up, just putting your rear foot towards the motor wheel of the board and applying a little weight to the back of the board ease the board up the hill. People always stop and stare at my board, I have had lots of people come and enquire when they have seen me stationary, and enquired about the board, although when I tell them the price of the boards, they are immediately shocked, and that in a majority if cases, finalises the conversation, however there are quite a few people that are really interested and I point them in the right direction and offer them the site address where I purchased mine from electro-skate of course.

My remote controller is the bluetooth egg. it has four buttons

    1 speed increase.

    2 Speed decrease

    3 Reverse

    4 Stop

it has an abs/degenerative braking system, and believe me it is really responsive indeed, one of them kind of things that you will become better with over time.

I spent around £70 pounds on safety equipment.

SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT WITH ALL SKATEBOARDS

ALWAYS WEAR GOOD PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, AND A GOOD BRAND SAFETY HELMET.
