  1. I had to stop regularly skateboarding for about a year due to other issues, I know how hard that can be... but this year I can get back to the e-boarding in 2012 :)

I think once you are bitten by the electric skateboarding bug, you don't lose that happy feeling :)

    Cheers

  2. Hi, just wondering if anyone have comment if Elektroskate is still in business or not...

I am now in market to get new board for 2012 so I can get some riding in before the end of the world :)

I went to Elektroskate website, and it came up on web page, but I am not sure if they are still in business since I could not contact them.

I was interested in ES-500 Air, but I see a notice saying they are not direct shipping those from UK right now, and I see the ADD TO BASKET link for ES-SPORT 600 link active to buy, but I am not sure if there is any in stock or not or what that means...

I was going to buy an ES-Sport 600 in 2009, but I had to make change in plans, and now I am having only an old metro-board shortboard and I wanted to get a new longboard, so I was looking at the latest Metro-board models from usa, but the ES-SPORT 600 still have the better looking specs, and the ES-AIR 500 looks great also...

I would be interested in hearing comment from someone who has owned the ES-SPORT 600 for more than a year or two, to get your comments on build quality and how the board is still running...

Maybe also if someone from Elektroskate visit this forum, they can help me to check on making an order ....

Cheers from Fu**king freezing Finland :D

  3. Hi there Uvedovle, this is the best electric skateboard forum for sure. I have myself been off for last year due to crazy times, but I try to get back on more this year (while I am waiting for winter to end in Finland...now it is too damn cold and I still have two months until snow melts).

I also do not speak much german, but I learn more reading the local guys posts :)

Spain must be great place to ride, nice weather :) lots of people from Finland go to spain for holiday, I might do that myself this year and bring my board :) lets see if money is available and I can get a good deal :)

    Have fun riding !

    Cheers

  4. Do agree with everything - besides the brakes.. never really trusted them. But I may be influenced by my first trails of changing the battery to a LiFePo which caused that the board was turning off when I went down a really steep hill.. might imagine that I saw myself already squished on the ground.. But nope, it's not only that. I'd prefere a break which is hitting faster and stronger.

Yeah well I agree the brakes are probably not the best if you want to make sure you can stop ;) I guess I am a little crazy... my e-glide boards with the wire controller have much, much better precision throttle and braking...

The e-glide boards brake real hard--if you want.. the trick is to apply enough pressure on the pistol controller... I already had a couple times I braked to hard and went flying...

But for such a small board (metroboard), the brakes don't seem too bad... but it is true, you do need to allow yourself some room to break...there seem to be a short delay when you press the brake button (either one light or hard) on the IR remote until the motor breaking engages. I guess I like to have the true "coasting" feeling when breaking on the metro-board.

  5. Die Boards sehen wirklich ganz nett aus.

Aber wie fährt sich das Metroboard denn mit der IR-Fernsteuerung?

--- The IR remote is really easy to use... it has a wide angle IR view, so I find no problem of losing IR connection...

Bremst das automatisch ab sobald man nicht mehr auf dem IR-Empfänger zielt?

--- If you do lose connection with IR, the board just starts to coast like normal board... actually when I go down hills, i just don't press any button and coast..

Wie gut lässt sich das die Geschwindigkeit mit dem Knöpfen dosieren? '

The speed is gradual with the IR remote...it is pretty smooth, no real jerky stops or starts...

Vor allem das Bremsen, kann man auch gemütlich abbremsen damit?

--- The brakes are really good...nice and smooth...there are two levels, the light brake, which slows you down to a slow pace (like 3km per second) and the hard brake, which basically smoothly stops you to almost entirely stopped..I use the light brake when going down some really steep hill, and the hard break if I want to stop and jump off the board (like when coming to some sidewalk curb that I want to carry the board).

Lustig find ich auch das man mit der Fernsteuerung hupen können soll :D

    Wie hört sich die an?

--- The horn is funny...if you can imagine a electronic chirping sound..

  6. Hi, I have the 24V 9.0 Amp Hour Ni-MH batteries...so the longest range and power of the ones they offer...

Actually, I talked to Andrew by mail at ES, and he told me the ABEC 11 wheels are available, and since I just bought a metro-board, I really want to get the ES 600 with the ABEC 11 wheels first... So in a couple weeks, I am going to get that and then in June I am going for the Metro-board Riviera longboard (same batteries and wheels as the shortboard).

So after that, I will have 2 e-glides, 1 metro-board shortboard, 1 Metro-board Longboard and 1 ES 600... I will be all set for the summer... but who knows..in July I might have to buy the ES 800...

Ok, so I have no life but to buy electric skateboards :)

  7. gratulations for the board Finn ! can you test the max speed and the range with one full battery ? Ilan wrote 24km ... sounds nice but is it realistic ?

Hi Chrizz ! Yeah sure I will do that the next time I have a free time to ride (I hate mondays) and I will GPS it so you get the precise measurement. Also I am a big guy 90 kg, so you will get a good idea of speed and range with heavier rider ... obviously if you weigh 75kg you can go farther and faster...

    terveisin, Dave

  8. Hey Finn,

Would be nice if you could take a pic of the gear wheel as I'm curious how Ilan mounted the toothwheel.. I've got exactly the same deck here as you're using, but never used it.. maybe I'll give it a try..

    Greetz!

Hi there ! I added some pictures to my Metroboard album, I am not sure if it is what you are looking for, but you can go take a look!

Yeah I like my Metroboard :) Next month, I am buying the Metroboard longboard Riviera so that I have two metroboards to ride in the summer... (p.s. how many boards is enough? I want to try the Electroskate ES 600 this summer also :)

By the way, your Metroboard looks Sa-Weet !

  9. I been waiting for 4 months this damn snow in Finland to melt... now it has melted enuff for some serious boarding !

I had question on the ES 600, what brand are those gumball wheels you can pay extra for, and how do they compare to the Landyachts wheels? I noticed it looked like someone fitted some Landyachts wheels to their ES 600 ?

    Terveisin,

    Dave in Finland

  10. Too much snow right now to carve right now... but I am still going to add to my collection of boards by summer... next stop is ES boards 600 and 800... I am thinking of renting an empty warehouse a few times per week to ride my boards... I might be able to find one for 100 euros per month for 6 hours weeknights...

I really enjoy riding electric skateboards... problem is I want to own one of each...so I am going broke....

    cheers !

  11. Hi Dave,

best regards from munich in germany. I'm new too in the electric skateboard sceene.

    ...

But i think that other battery types will have problems too with low temperatures.

Hi, I just took a video from my ride today in Finland... we have been having record low temperatures (-53 to -35) but it was sunny today and could not resist !!!

    Terveisin, Dave

  12. Hei all, I am Dave from Finland and I just wanted to say hi... I am new to the electric skateboard scene, but not so new to skateboarding in general, I used to skateboard as a kid a lot, but kind of lost track in life somewhere, now I am getting back to my roots a bit...

I have been looking a lot over the internet for most all the electric skateboarding info I can find, and I am surprised how little there really is... this is good you have a forum here for skaters to visit...

I see here on the board that most of you are using Mo-Bo or elektroskate boards... I am curious to ask a question of the elektroskate boards with the new lithium batteries, is the range (25 miles) of the boards (ES 600 or ES 800) really true? That seems unbelievable..I wonder why all the other manufactures don't go lithium?

anyway I am going to try and build a collection of boards for every kind of environment I may ride... in Finland it is always cold as hell, dark as hell or wet as hell... so we have only like 3 months of nice weather if we are lucky... but as long as it is dry out... I can handle the cold...I hope the boards can handle it...

    Terveisin/Cheers
