Ich hab mich mal bei Yuneec über Das Firmware Upgrade und den gedrosselten Speed informiert. Hier die Antwort:
The firmware upgrade has various parameters changes and will also provide support for Android E-GO app. We are also carrying out some other upgrades, including a larger heat-sink on the ECU.
The E-GO Cruiser has been designed and software programmed to provide a good range at an adequate and safe speed. A faster top speed or faster acceleration curve would result in a shorter range. So we have created acceleration and braking curves and a maximum speed that gives the best overall performance. The belt and gear on the electric motor and driven wheel were all designed for this performance to give long life and reliability and satisfy 95% of people, 95% of the time.
If you have tried to run at 20km/hr or 12 mph, you will realize just how fast that is and how long you can maintain that speed. After 500m you would be sure to be getting tired whereas the E-GO Cruiser can carry on for another 20,000 metres + As far as safety goes, a fall at top speed is still fast running speed so you should be able to run to a halt. A fall at 30km/her or 18mph is a different thing - we know, we have tested at a variety of speeds before deciding 20km/hr or 12mph works the best and is the safest.
An E-GO Cruiser travelling at 20 km/hr can
-- Cruise along at 5.5 meters / 18 feet every second
-- Can cross a doubles tennis court in under 2 seconds
-- Can do a length of an Olympic size Swimming Pool in 9 seconds before the Olympians have even got half way
-- Can do an American football field end zone to end zone in under 20 seconds
-- Travels at about twice the speed of an average marathon runner over the same distance
-- After your friend gives up after 500 metres running along side you, you carry on for another 20,000m +
See what the press are saying:-
